The Langston’s are a prominent Savannah family which include, three grown children, Jeffrey, Leslie and Eddie. Their parents are Andrew and Laura Langston. Grandparents are Thomas and Rita Isaacs. There is a deep ethnicity family secret that the children know nothing about that will drastically affect one of them more than the other two. Al and Frank who live in a different section of town are the neighborhood thugs who are always up to no good. A jogger killer is on the loose that has a demented way of mutilating the bodies of the victims that puzzles the detectives working the case. Dr. Leslie, Dr. Dan, Brandy and Nazee are best friends from college who open up a much-needed clinic that has become very successful in one of the less desirable sections of the city. But inevitably, tragedy will strike which changes their lives. The relationships of the best friends are one of love, trust and loyalty. They stand by one another through thick and thin and eventually share their lives with men who are different from one another but have that common bond of dedicated love and respect at it’s finest towards their women.

The deadly shooting at the clinic has taken its toll on everyone, including the community that Dr. Dan had become an essential part of. Over the past few years, the girls have tried their very best to do everything in their power to be there for Brandy and her twins. Because the clinic had grown in size, Dr. Leslie hired additional staff and Nazee had also made sure that there were nurses completing their internships and volunteers as well. Jade and Gia are very busy with school and the nursery. Jonny is now dating Gia and blames himself for Dr. Dan’s death, knowing that he was the intended target and vows to make Frank pay for what he did.
Detectives Carter and Emery are working on several serious cases, one concerning senior citizens who are purposely being targeted as to get the attention of the journalists. None of them know that this is a ploy to get back at Trent for something that his ex fiancés brother blames him for.
Jeff has come to terms with his ethnicity and has gotten engaged to Yvette who is a professor at the university that Eddie and Saulo attend. Nazee and Spence are a couple now, and have become very close. Spence is very much in love with her and has asked her to marry him. Little does he know that a situation from his past threatens to destroy their relationship for good. Although Mona broke it off with Jeff after finding out that his mother was black, she had become more determined than ever to win him back especially after finding out that he is in a serious relationship with Yvette. She will stop at nothing to get him back which will become deadly in the end.
Carter and Brandy have finally started dating. She surprises him with a birthday party that is one for the history books. Although there are situations and circumstances good and bad, that will test their strength, their friendships are up for the challenge of the test of time
At Days End
There have been lots of ups and downs in the story. Some good, some great, some sad, a few that can be forgiven and many that can be recovered from. Seeing each other through thick and thin no matter what circumstances may arise…and arise they do.
After searching for Gia, to his dismay, Saulo finally finds her sound asleep in her old study room. Other than when his mother passed away, he had never been so scared in his life.
The Langston’s are enjoying being grandparents and have taken a summer cruise to Morocco with their granddaughter Champagne. The others onboard are, Amir, Adilah, Rita, Thomas, Clarisse and Orin. This will give Brandy’s twins a chance to have a nice long visit with their grandparents.
Brandy, along with the help of her friends throw a surprise birthday party for Carter at The Side Door that lasts all night long. Everyone had so much fun that they are still talking about it. Especially Emery who was the life of the party.
Brandy and Carter have gotten married and are enjoying a nice long summer honeymoon since Jade is away at camp and the twins are on the cruise to Morocco. Les and Trent are expecting a baby boy. Jeff and Yvette are planning their wedding as are Nazee an Spence. A former threat surfaces as to destroy Jeff and Yvette’s relationship leaving behind a unexplainable outcome including a horrific death.
As Spence and Nazee’s wedding draws near he is confronted with some news that he fears will undoubtedly end his relationship with Nazee forever.
Carter and Emery have solved a child abduction case which was long overdue. There was also a jewelry store robbery in progress where Emery was hurt and taken to the hospital. He was unconscious for a period of time not knowing what the outcome would be.
Because of Rachael’s insistence, no one knows that she and Eddie are seeing each other. When they do finally tell the family, they are overjoyed. Especially Clarisse and Orin who desperately want grandchildren. Eddie is in law school and has bought a beautiful condo. Rachael has opened up another boutique which her friend Mylinh runs for her.
Trenton and Spencer are The Journal’s number one journalists and have been sent overseas with their team to cover a story during the height of a war going on there. Nazee and Leslie are trying their best to cope with the situation. All of their friends and family are diligently keeping up with the news including trying to find out when they will be coming home. When Les and Nazee are notified that they will be home soon, their hopes are lifted somewhat as they prepare for their safe return. Les, Nazee and Gia are at the airport to meet them but, Trent has come home …without Spence. Nazee goes into a tailspin lashing out at everything and everyone in her path. She has completely fallen apart and fears the worse. Andy contacts all the fellas and all of his contacts to come up with a plan to find Spence and bring him home no matter what.
Jade goes to her high school prom with her friend Davis who is a college student and author. Carter is having a hard time with the realization that his cupcake is growing up.
Summer is at hand now as everyone is making their plans. Now that Brandy and Carter’s twin boys are walking the whole family is vacationing in the islands where Carter grew up. They are lounging on the beach watching Jade and the kids make sand castles when Brandy turns to him with her news.
